TedxGUtech by Ted Talks

TEDxGUtech is the first TEDx event with 'University' license from TED.com in Oman, themed under “Connect the Dots”, ideas worth spreading starts with a simple thought and by developing that basic form of an idea and connecting it to another idea, innovation and development happens.

 

Tech Exhibition and Hashcode Competition by Google Audience: 150

The computer science club organized an associated tech exhibition with the Hash Code competition, as a Pre-event to provide the participants of the competition with various opportunity for future work. As well for the exhibitors, who we proudly say that the outcome was few got TV interviews appointments, funding for few projects and collaborations with companies for further support of their work. With the attendance, Google Developer Ecosystem Regional Lead to show their support. The computer science club have arranged with the collaboration of both TRC and ITA, a training session for the participants of Hash Code programming competition by Google in the German University of technology in Oman. Which was the first and only available hub in the Sultanate for competition participation.

 

 

 

 

Women Techmakers by Google

The Computer Science club have organized the Women Techmakers Global Event Series Celebrating International Women’s Day to support the Women’s in the technology filed as it is an organization based in US with full support by Google.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Internet of Things Boot Camp

The Computer Science Club Students have organized a Boot Camp for introducing the internet of things (IoT) with the use of Arduino with the collaboration of Engineering Village to present an introductory presentation which was also presentations presented by GUtech students in front of an audience from both GUtech students and from outside as well.

 

Technology Trends and Ideation Workshop

The computer science club have organized by the collaboration of ITA and the US embassy, a workshop session by Dan Costa, Editor-in-Chief of at PC Magazine and Host of Fast Forward, a presentation titled ‘Technology trends’ also followed a workshop for ‘ideation, and how to create your own ideas to successful startups’
